Each Child of God
Each child of God has his own walk
No two can be compared.
Strive not to be what you are not,
Let your true self be bared.
The Lord called us for who we are,
Not who we'd like to be.
He knows us from the inside out
There's nothing He can't see.
When living in the world we hide behind
Our masks and walls,
But we can leave them all outside the door
When Jesus calls.
It's just ourselves who we will harm
When putting on a false facade
As in the end the cracks come through
The mask will drop and there's
Just you.
But God in mercy and with grace
Will help you find you're proper place.
To be secure in who you are,
The reason He brought you so far.
To learn to like yourself is an important thing to do,
Not easy when there's many years of faces to break through.
But just remember with each layer removed that God has made
Each one of us in image of Himself - then Jesus paid
For all our sins with His own blood,
These things so huge, so true,
Has been the reason I could take off my mask
So can you.
