Have You Ever Tried to Build Castles?
Have you ever tried to build castles
On a beach with the tide coming in?
Or tried to fly a beautiful kite
On a day without any wind?
Have you ever watered the garden
With a can that's full of holes?
Well that's like life without Jesus.
Like a tent without any poles.
Did you ever ride a bike uphill
With punctures in both tyres?
Or bailed a boat with a colander?
Or used wet leaves to start a fire?
Have you ever peered through a window
That's painted over in white?
Well that was life without Jesus.
A dark room without any light.
I love the way You make me see
I love the way You make me see
The colours in grey skies.
I love the way You speak to me
In every breeze that sighs.
I love the way seas sparkle,
Catch Your light in sun and rain.
But most of all I love the way
I called out
And You came.
I love the way You whisper
In the moonlight of the night.
I love the way the mountains shout
Your power and Your might.
I love the beauty You show me
In each part of Creation.
But most of all I love You Lord
My joy and my salvation.
