Young People
Friday evenings – Youth
The youth at GCC are those of secondary school age (11 to 18) who meet together for fun and friendship. Pete and Jules Bond lead the youth in a variety of activities including games nights, movie nights, Bible study and skittles. We seek to pray for each other and be real; talking about how God is involved in our lives at home and school and learning more about Jesus together.
We currently meet fortnightly. The venue is usually Pete and Jules' place, but can often change so keep an eye on the GCC news for updates.
Sunday mornings
Children leave the main Sunday morning meeting for their age groups when a notice is displayed on the screen at the front.
Bubbles
Bubbles is the crèche facility for babies and children from birth to reception age. It is run by a dedicated team of carers who have been CRB-checked. Bubbles volunteers follow a programme of activities in line with ‘Scripture Union’ resources for this age group, called Bubbles (from which we chose our name).
When they come into Bubbles they join a welcome time where they are served healthy snacks and hear a themed story and prayer. Children then have access to a wide range of play experiences, including role play, construction and craft. There is a comfortable area for babies and nursing mothers, which has a change mat available.
During their time with us, have a worship time with music and instruments, using carefully selected worship songs, after which the older children have a short group Bible based activity time. After tidying up we enjoy sharing what we have done and learnt, giving out reward stickers and finishing with a relaxed shared prayer.
Explorers
Explorers caters for children aged 5 to 12 years.
First Sunday
Bubbles and Explorers do not take place on the first Sunday of each month as the main meeting is geared for the whole family.
Safety
We have a child protection policy and all of our helpers have had police CRB checks. Parents and carers are very welcome to stay or come into Bubbles or Explorers at any time. We look forward to welcoming you!
