Through Jesus, we know that our sins are forgiven and that He has borne our punishment for every kind of wrongdoing. The new covenant always trumps the old, yes? And so we can forget the Old Testament with all it's laws and legalism, right?? Actually, no we can't. The clue to the basis for Steve Gibbon's talk is in the title; Jesus came in fulfilment of the law, not to do away with it. Although it is an incontrovertible fact that we have a wonderful, merciful saviour in Jesus, we also have our responsibilities.
