When we receive salvation, Jesus gives us a whole new identity. He takes away the old one and declares us to be righteous. In return, He expects us to live, not for ourselves, but for Him. The joy of the Lord becomes our strength. But - does the enemy want us to be strong? No, he wants to steal our new identity and make us live our lives as though we're guilty and condemned. In this podcast, Dave Wells (LifeLinks, Canada) reminds us that we must stop identifying ourselves by our past sins and failures; instead, in the knowledge that God declares us 100% righteous, we need to cultivate a 'righteousness consciousness'.
